Nonsurgical Spinal Treatment
Most spine conditions can be successfully treated using a non-operative approach.
Most spine conditions can be successfully treated using a non-operative approach.
At Brigham and Women's, our focus is delivering the right care, for the right patient, at the right time. We frequently treat patients suffering from back pain using conservative methods such as physical therapy, occupational therapy, injections or medication. In fact, between 70 to 90 percent of our patients with back pain do not require spine surgery.
Our care team includes physiatrists (physical medicine and rehabilitation doctors), pain management specialists and spine care surgeons. Together, our experts work to provide state-of-the-art nonsurgical care that restores freedom of movement and reduces spine pain. Only when conservative treatments fail to generate significant improvement do we consider surgical options.
Wherever you are in your care journey, Brigham and Women's multidisciplinary spine care team is committed to providing safe, expert spine care, both in-person and virtually. Our care team will work with you to schedule the right visit for you.
